Jazz/Tap
Description
Jazz classes incorporate a variety of styles. The focus of this class is to continue building technique and expressiveness. Skills included in this class are turns, flexibility, leaps, kicks, choreography, center, and across-the-floor combinations. Students are encouraged to take ballet in conjunction with jazz; however, it is not required.Tap emphasizes specific movements to various beats. It is similar to other dance forms where specific movements and items need to be accomplished before moving to the next level. Students will focus on developing musicality and rhythm, while also increasing strength and coordination.
