Course Description: This course will focus on ethical dilemmas and challenges in the ever-popular world of sports. Topics will focus on fair play, cheating & doping, violence and aggression in sport, youth sports & concussions, gambling & sports betting, gender equality and amateur sports with a focus on the Olympics and the NCAA. The course is designed to examine the moral issues connected to the topics and will provide students with a framework for both researching and formulating their own ideas regarding the issues.

Upon completion, students will develop a better sense of their place in sports as participants or spectators. Students do not need to be on a team, engaged in sports or participating in sports to gain further insight into the broad moral questions explored in this class.

Attendance Expectations & Requirements:
Ethics in Sports has SEVEN in-person class meetings scheduled. Students are encouraged to attend all class meetings and are REQUIRED to attend at least FIVE meetings. Classes require in-person attendance at the Midway campus.
