Description

Teens in Action is more than just community service.  Teens in Action is a club dedicated to teens exploring what matters to them and creating a plan to improve their communities.  It is where teens can challenge themselves and take on leadership to achieve their goals and become a positive force for their community.  This program is built on Camp Fire’s long standing belief that youth are part of the solution to, and not the problem with, today’s social and environmental challenges.  The ultimate goal of these programs is to bring together like minded teens who want to make a difference in their communities and the world.

Teens in Action:

This is a Teens in Action project started in 2015 to provide fun and exciting birthday parties for foster children or other families in need.  In this club, teens will be responsible for throwing parties for accepted clients and meet 1-2 times per month as needed to manage all aspects of this project, including fundraising, finding and booking clients, and party planning.  Former club members will train new club members to pass on what they have learned.

This club will run January through June.

*Meeting times and location, including the first meeting, will be scheduled at the best time/place for the members of the club based on consensus.*

Sliding Scale:

Many teen programs are offered on a self selecting sliding scale basis.  You will see the full cost, a discount of 30%, or an option to apply for a scholarship (generally covering about 80% of program costs for teen programs.). Please choose the amount that you can afford so we can continue to offer options for those who can afford less.

Financial Aid:

As a nonprofit organization, Camp Fire is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships based upon financial need thanks to United Way of Deschutes County, the Every Kid Fund, and many generous corporate sponsors, foundations and individual donors. Please complete our simple Financial Assistance Form after you have created a Camp Fire log in and before you register for individual sessions.

You must pay the non-refundable fee at check out.  If you are not approved for a scholarship, you will have the opportunity to choose your price on the sliding scale.  If you choose not to do the program based on denial of financial assistance, your non-refundable fee will be returned to you.
