Description

Be a tourist in your own town on this adventure sports program.   Explore Central Oregon.   Go hiking at Smith Rock.   Swim in alpine lakes in the shadow of the Three Sisters.   Take the plunge on a tour combining mountain biking and natural water slides!

This Adventure Challenge is beyond just fun.  It is an opportunity to practice a growth mindset and to work through how challenges can be translated into personal growth, self confidence, and leadership skills.  In this program, you will learn how to support others and be supported as you try new things.  You will make connections to help you apply what you learn to other life situations.

*All activities are challenge by choice.

Note: Camp Fire will use professional guide services of Smith Rock Climbing School for climbing and the Paulina Plunge for biking/waterslides tour.

Location:

We will meet at Bear Creek Elementary School and set off from there for our adventure of the day. Times may vary slightly based on distance to our adventure and schedule with the guides, but expect the day to roughly run from 8 am to 4 pm. You will receive a detailed parent letter 1-2 weeks before the trip with exact meet times for each day.

Sliding Scale Pricing Options:

As a nonprofit organization, Camp Fire is pleased to be able to offer a sliding scale pay structure and a limited number of partial scholarships based upon financial need thanks to United Way of Deschutes County, The Clabough Foundation, Oregon Community Foundation, and the New York Life Foundation, as well as corporate sponsors and generous individual donors.  If you would like to make a donation to Camp Fire, you can do so here.

The sliding scale choices reflect the true cost of the program, grant supported sliding scale options, or an option to apply for financial assistance.  In an effort to make our programs accessible to as many people as possible, please choose the highest amount you can afford on the sliding scale.

Financial Assistance:

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please complete our simple Financial Assistance Form with your registration for individual sessions.

You must pay the non-refundable fee at check out.  If you are not approved for a scholarship, you will have the opportunity to choose your price on the sliding scale.  If you choose not to do the program based on denial of financial assistance, your non-refundable fee will be returned to you.

*Note: In an effort to support as many people as we can, we are not able to offer full scholarships at this time.

You can read more about our financial assistance process here.
