Registration for this session is no longer available

In this service learning program, teens will spend 4 days riding and learning bike safety, maintenance and repair. By working on bikes that will be donated back to the community, teens have the opportunity to build skills while giving back to others.

Participants do not need to own a bicycle to participate in this program.

This program is offered in partnership with Empowering Youth Bicycle Program, Bicycle Re-Source of Bend, and Commute Options.

Exact Location and meeting point in Prineville TBD.  Stay tuned...

Each day we will meet from 9:30 am to 3 pm.  We will go for a ride every morning with an emphasis on how to ride the roads in your community safely.  Every afternoon, we will learn basic bike maintenance and repair techniques.

Service: With new repair skills, we will help Empowering Youth Bicycle Program fix donated bikes so those bikes can be re-donated into the community.  This is a pay it forward, win-win, service learning project!

Please bring everyday: Your bicycle and helmet, a water bottle, a lunch and snacks, a backpack or way to carry things while riding, clothes that can get dirty (bicycle grease is VERY hard to get out of clothing!)

Bicycles:  If you have a bicycle and helmet, please bring it.  If you need a bicycle, you can earn one to take home with them at the end of the week by participating in this service learning project.  We will reach out if you indicate that you need a bicycle.

You will receive an email 1-2 weeks before the program start date with additional details and program specifics.

In the meantime, please feel free to contact us for more information!

Sliding Scale Pricing Options:

As a nonprofit organization, Camp Fire is pleased to be able to offer a sliding scale pay structure and a limited number of partial scholarships based upon financial need thanks to United Way of Deschutes County, The Clabough Foundation, Oregon Community Foundation, and the New York Life Foundation, as well as corporate sponsors and generous individual donors.  If you would like to make a donation to Camp Fire, you can do so here.

The sliding scale choices reflect the true cost of the program, grant supported sliding scale options, or an option to apply for financial assistance.  In an effort to make our programs accessible to as many people as possible, please choose the highest amount you can afford on the sliding scale.

Financial Assistance:

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please complete our simple Financial Assistance Form with your registration for individual sessions.

You must pay the non-refundable fee at check out.  If you are not approved for a scholarship, you will have the opportunity to choose your price on the sliding scale.  If you choose not to do the program based on denial of financial assistance, your non-refundable fee will be returned to you.

*Note: In an effort to support as many people as we can, we are not able to offer full scholarships at this time.

You can read more about our financial assistance process here.
