Summit Country Day’s Beginning Band Camp, held July 7–10 from 12:30–3:00 PM, offers incoming 5th grade band students an exciting introduction to Instrumental Music under the direction of Dr. Dan Grantham, Summit’s new Instrumental Music Director. This fun and supportive camp is designed to help introduce and accelerate the learning of their new musical instrument. Students will learn essential skills such as instrument assembly and care, creating a proper embouchure, fingerings and producing their first notes. Students will perform their first songs together, build leadership skills by helping one another, and enjoy games, snacks, videos, and creative activities throughout the week. The camp provides an exciting and excellent start on their musical journey.
