KC Pet Project - Youth
KC Pet Project
KC Pet Project is building a more compassionate community for pets and people by caring for over 16,000 animals a year. They work with other animal welfare organizations to increase the number of homeless pets adopted and focus on lifesaving programs promoting pet retention, identification, lost pet reunions, and supporting keeping families and their pets together throughout the community. Volunteers help in many ways, such as Animal Handling and Care:
Help keep animals happy and active by assisting with dog walking, playgroups, or socializing cats and dogs; Animal Enrichment: Help improve the mental health of the animals in our care by assembling dog and cat treats and toys. This opportunity is kid friendly!; Administrative Support
Use your organizational skills to assist with filing, mailings, data entry, returning phone calls and other clerical tasks; and Shelter Support (Non-animal handling): Help keep shelter pets happy and healthy through kennel cleaning, stocking inventory, and sorting donations.

Up to 10 youth and 2 adults will volunteer at KC pet project in the mornings and “at home” projects supporting KC Pet Project at St. Paul’s in the afternoon.
KC Scraps - Youth
KC Scraps Changes People and Things. Their mission is to provide resources, education and an environment for creative upcycling that encourages change in a more responsible community. Their vision is to transform the unwanted into something of value! As a volunteer you might be organizing manipulatives and classroom decor for an exciting reuse, assembling kits, wrangling textiles, hunting for treasures, or a yarn guru.

Up to 10 youth and 2 adults will volunteer at KC Scraps all day.
ReStore - Youth

Thelma's Kitchen - Youth
Thelma’s Kitchen is Kansas City’s first pay it forward Cafe. Located on the corner of 31st and Troost we sit on the historic dividing line of Kansas City, and we invite all members of the Community from all walks of life into a gathering place. We offer affordable menu options for all budgets, and also provide free meals to all clients receiving services through our social and mental health program. We have been operating since 1986 on this historic corner, providing ID restoration, birth certificate, support, rent and utilities assistance, a foster grandparent program, and of course, Thelma’s Kitchen. Volunteers will help prepare food that goes into the Cafe, as well as catering to clients across the city who support our programs with their lunch dollars. We need support from volunteers, serving food, running the register, greeting our neighbors, providing kitchen prep and bussing tables. Come join us in the kitchen!
Up to 10 youth and 2 adults will help at Thelma’s kitchen in the morning and St. Paul’s in Kansas City Kansas in the afternoon.
