Peer Ministry Leadership for 14-17 year olds
Description
Peer Ministry Camp is for campers aged 14-17. The session runs from Sunday to Friday.

High school-aged young people are invited to spend a week at Camp Chickagami, exploring their faith in the community and growing deeper in leadership skills while being trained in Peer Ministry.

Peer Ministry gives youth the relational leadership skills to know how to listen, care, help when to seek help, welcome, and the skills needed to love every neighbor.

Check-in is from 1:00-2:00 pm on your session start date. Check-out begins at 1:30 pm on the session end date. Due to pre-session preparation and other sessions, Camp Chickagami cannot accommodate early arrivals or departures unless previously arranged or communicated.

Note: If your camper is being provided transportation by your sponsoring organization, please connect with them about pre-camp and post-camp logistics.

HEALTH & SAFETY: We are highly recommending that before you leave your home to travel to Camp Chickagami, take a rapid Covid test. If you test positive, stay home, make necessary notifications, and follow the CDC guidelines for those who test positive. We will have rapid tests available at camp. Help us care for our community, and stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness.

STAFF FOR PROGRAMS: Camp Chickagami staff and counselors are selected for their creativity, energy, kindness, and maturity. Each counselor and staff member participates in staff training focusing on group management, conflict resolution, bullying prevention and response, child development, creative programming, equity and inclusion, and activity leadership. Nurses, Chaplains, and camp leadership staff provide additional support and guidance to ensure your camper’s physical, emotional, and spiritual safety.

TIERED PRICING: Realizing that families can pay differently, Camp Chickagami has instituted a voluntary three-tier fee program. You may choose the tier that is most suitable for your family. It is an honor system; you tell us what is the best fit for your family.

Each camper will receive the same wonderful camp experience regardless of your chosen tier. This pricing model allows families to support the full cost of their child’s camp experience and help share that experience with other campers.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarship assistance is available for families that cannot afford our Tier 1 pricing. Our policy is that no child is turned away due to financial ability.

Youth Camp Tiered Pricing
Tier 1
Tier 1 is our historically subsidized rate and does not reflect the true cost of operating summer camp programs. Every effort is made to keep the Camp Fee as low as possible.
+ $400.00
Tier 2
Tier 2 is our partially subsidized fee for those who can pay a little more but still can not afford the actual cost of camp. Electing to pay the Tier 2 price helps cover more of the cost of your child's summer camp experience.
+ $450.00
Tier 3
Tier 3 more closely accounts for the true costs of camp including wear and tear of building and grounds. Families electing to pay Tier 3 are able to help cover the actual costs of camp including food and supplies, insurance, facilities upkeep and improvements, summer staff salaries and expenses, and programming and activities.
+ $500.00
