Archery & Wilderness Skills
Description
This session is split with Archery Lessons in the morning and Wilderness Skills in the afternoon.
In archery, campers will not only become proficient in shooting a bow, but will also learn archery essentials such as bow tuning, arrow maintenance, self-analysis, troubleshooting, archery etiquette, and safety. Campers will create their own arrows, targets, and even see if they can pop a balloon target. This camp is intended for beginner and experienced archers to have a positive experience with archery.
Campers in grades 6-8 will also have the opportunity to learn how to use hunting crossbows as an advanced study. There is an additional fee included in this camp to provide the appropriate additional safety protocols to practice this discipline.
In wilderness skills, campers will learn first-hand survival skills involving outdoor cooking, how to build a fire, make survival bracelets, tie knots, pitch a tent, read a compass, read a map, and more! This afternoon session complements archery by incorporating science, art, games, and community building while teaching the importance of being prepared and educated in unexpected situations.
