Gr 1-2 Intro to LEGO Engineering
Description
This camp will introduce students to the Engineering Design Process: identify, research, plan, build, test, improve. Campers will learn the concepts of measurement, speed, balance, mechanical movement, and structure. Guided, challenge, and free builds will focus on how to use simple machines including gears, levers, pulleys, wheels and axles to prepare campers for more advanced LEGO engineering and robotics.

* WHEN
06/13/22 - 06/17/22, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

* WHERE
The session will be held in the EBL Robotics Lab or the UE Innovation Space. The camp leader will confirm the location when summer building maintenance plans are firmed. We will be using a school playground for outdoor brain-breaks and to test various builds. (Our plan for inclement weather: Robotics Lab, a hallway, or gym.)

* WHAT TO BRING
Campers should:
* Bring a water bottle and personal snack
* Wear closed-toe tennis-type shoes for safety during outdoor "brain break" as well as prototype testing on the playground.
* Bring or pre-apply sunscreen if necessary as there will be one or two 15 minute brain breaks and/or prototype testing on the EBL playground.
