The Knight School: Chess Party!
Description
The Knight School's Chess Party is back at FCS! We offer beginner-friendly chess classes featuring super-fun, high-energy chess lessons and tournament play. We learn color-coded chess tactics and strategies, which correspond to collectible silicone wristbands that show that students have mastered a certain tactic. Students try to collect all 28 colorful TactixBands. We also face off in tournaments, play fun games, solve puzzlers for candy, watch silly chess videos, and have joke contests—it’s a chess party!

Your tuition includes weekly chess parties, a chess set, a chess t-shirt, all the TactixBands Junior can earn, entry to weekly online national chess tournaments, and entry to in-person TournaParties (half tournament, half party!) in December and in May! Chess will meet on Wednesdays 2:45-4 AND/OR on Thursdays 3:45-5. We opened a second section due to high demand; both sections are identical, and students are welcome to enroll in either, or both if they liske!

Why join TKS's chess party? First of all, for FUN! Second, Chess has been proven to increase standardized test scores, improve critical thinking and capacity for STEM-learning, and strengthen students’ problem-solving and focus skillsets! At tKS our favorite thing about teaching chess is instilling academic confidence. We love when students develop an identity as a “smart kid” who is great at the most mathematically complex game in human history—chess!

A $40 material fee for the chess bag and t-shirt will be applied to all newly enrolled families

Auxiliary Discount (Ex-Day)
$8.5 discount per session due to dual enrollment in Ex-Day. The actual amount will depend on the total number of sessions. Please only select this if you are currently enrolled or plan to enroll in Ex-Day during the Auxiliary Program seasons. This discount will be reviewed at the end of the Auxiliary Program by an Administrator before it is approved and a credit will be applied to your Ultracamp account.
