BollyGroove: Fusion Dance for the Modern Stage
Description
Dive into a cool fusion of South Asian classical movement and contemporary street styles. We will explore the vibrant storytelling and infectious rhythms of Bollywood using it as a foundation to develop strength, rhythm and coordination. Sessions will include exploring different styles of dancing (Bhangra, Raas, South Indian, etc), viewing blockbuster Bollywood films and mastering a full-length choreography. Students will gain knowledge in core techniques to build physical fitness and mental self confidence by learning body movement and creative expressions. At the end, students will have the opportunity to master a fun, full length choreography with their parents or peers. All levels are welcome!
