Session 5 Harry Potter Week
Description
Step into the wizarding world of Harry Potter for a week of house pride, friendly rivalry, and high-energy adventure—where it’s more science than sorcery.
Campers are “sorted” into houses on opening night and spend the week earning points through teamwork, leadership, and participation. While the theme sparks imagination, the activities are grounded in real-world learning and hands-on discovery.
Throughout the week, campers will:

Create wands and house gear while exploring design, balance, and craftsmanship

Mix “potions” through safe chemistry experiments, learning about reactions, states of matter, and measurement

Study motion and aerodynamics through Quidditch-style field games

Build teamwork strategies during house challenges and problem-solving missions

Engage in nature exploration, connecting the “forbidden forest” theme to real ecosystems and environmental science

Houses compete for the coveted Zanika House Cup, earning points for sportsmanship, collaboration, creativity, and perseverance.
In addition to themed programming, campers experience a full lineup of classic camp activities:

Arts and crafts

Archery

Backpacking

Boating and kayaking

Paddle boarding

Swimming

Hiking

Nature crafts

Ropes course

Campfires, cookouts, songs, and skits

The fun begins Sunday afternoon and concludes Saturday morning, giving campers a full week to build confidence, friendships, and curiosity.
This isn’t about magic spells—it’s about discovery, teamwork, and the science behind how the world really works. The Zanika House Cup rewards courage, creativity, and critical thinking—making this a week where imagination meets exploration.
