A First Camp Experience Full of Creativity, Discovery & Confidence

Designed especially for children entering grades 1–4, Mini Week is the perfect first trip away from home. Campers enjoy many of the same favorite activities as our full-length Explorer sessions—campfires, outdoor adventures, hands-on projects, and group games—within a shorter, supportive stay that builds independence and confidence.

This session invites campers to step into the imaginative world inspired by Where the Wild Things Are. Through arts-rich programming and hands-on science exploration, children will embark on creative adventures that blend storytelling, design, and discovery.

Throughout the week, campers will:

Design and create crowns and masks using mixed media, exploring color, texture, and artistic expression

Build and engineer forts and “wild” habitats, learning basic principles of structure, balance, and teamwork

Investigate the natural world, observing plants, insects, and forest ecosystems like true explorers

Experiment with simple, age-appropriate science activities, such as sound, motion, and materials in nature

Use drama and movement to bring stories to life and choreograph their own joyful “rumpus”

Create nature-inspired art, incorporating leaves, bark, clay, and found objects

By integrating science inquiry with visual arts, movement, and storytelling, campers strengthen creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. They practice problem-solving as they design, test, adjust, and reimagine their ideas—just like real artists and young scientists.

Mini Week is a joyful introduction to camp life—where imagination leads, curiosity grows, and every child leaves a little braver, a little more independent, and ready for their next adventure.
