Introduction to Tandem or Solo Lake Canoeing Instructor is the typical entry point into the Paddle Canada Lake Canoe Instructor program. As such, the fundamentals of instruction and classroom management receive considerable emphasis during this course.

Successful candidates receive the Introduction to Introduction to Tandem or Solo Lake Canoeing Instructor at this level.

The Introduction to Tandem or Solo Lake Canoeing Instructor is certified to:

conduct an Introduction to Tandem or Solo Lake Canoeing, Canoeing Basics and the Waterfront Skills courses
assist on an Intermediate Tandem or Solo Lake Canoeing skills course
apprentice on an Intermediate Tandem or Solo Lake Canoeing Instructor course (Advanced Tandem or Solo Lake Canoeing skills certification required)

Course Prerequisites
At least 16 years of age.

Certification
Paddle Canada Intermediate Tandem or Solo Lake Canoeing skills, or equivalent skills and knowledge with permission of the course instructor.

Experience
Experience beyond that of an Introduction to Tandem or Solo Lake Canoeing skills course.
