The objective of the class is for students to learn the basics of musical theory applied to the performing of musical pieces. Students will be able to play chords and melodies by reading musical notations in an ensemble (duet, trio or more) or as soloists. In addition, students will have an introduction to music appreciation, by performing different styles of music (classical, jazz, pop and/or latin folk). This class is taught in Spanish/English.

Using a number of fun Coding languages designed specifically for kids such as Scratch along with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and Ruby, students will be creating a variety of projects from games to customized websites; allowing them to learn the computational logic of Computer Science. They will be learning real languages and gaining an understanding of how programming affects our world. The Winter Session Dojo will focus on creating Video Games and Apps using JavaScript and Python!

Coding K-1st grade (Tuesday 3:10-4:00 PM)
Using iPad/Asus Tablet applications like Scratch Jr, Kodable, Light bot, and Bloxels coupled with hands on board games that promote social problem-solving, Code Fu's K-2 Dojo teaches students the computational logic of Computer Science/coding as well as provides them with an introduction into a number of block based coding languages. The second session will focus on tangible coding and will be introducing robotic coding using a number of Coding Robots such as Cubetto!

Cooking Around the World 2-5th grade (Thursday 3:15- 4:15 PM)
Cooking ‘Round the World gives students the opportunity to learn about countries ‘round the world through cooking ... and eating new recipes every session! It’s is completely hands on – everyone peels, chops, dices and minces. As safety is our priority, preschoolers and kindergartners use plastic knives. We supply aprons, food, cookware, and recipes. Children learn cooking skills while experiencing a country’s culinary flavors. The outcome is a new appreciation of food and a desire to see the world!

Please note: There are no peanuts or tree nuts used in recipes. With previous notice other allergies will also be taken into consideration in design of class recipes.
