April 24: The Jazz Ear: The Leap Between Theory, Listening and Playing with Tom Garling
Description
Join us for this set of program offerings for today’s musician. Whether you are a music student preparing for a musical career, an amateur musician wanting to learn more, or a professional musician wanting to glean from cohorts in the trenches, these studio classes will provide current, relevant and important information for you! Taught by today’s successful music professionals who are known nationally and internationally, you will take away valuable insights and practical tips for all musical genres.

We will explore ways to develop your ears and make the connection between what you know and what you hear in music. Jazz is primarily an art form of listening, communication, and imitation. However, the best jazz musicians are the ones who have a deep understanding of jazz theory, and music theory in general. This masterclass will try to take some of the mystery out of theory and show you how to listen to music for the purposes of learning it on your instrument. Suitable for all Jazz players.

High speed internet is required. The classes are provided over a Zoom platform. Links will be provided after registration.
