Leaders In Training - Volunteership
Description
This is a residential program for teens who are interested in and ready for the responsibility of caring for children in a camp environment while passing on the Hidden Villa legacy of social and environmental justice.

During the first 2 weeks, LIT participants begin learning some of the skills they will need as counselors, supporting camp programs, as well as enjoying some camp fun of their own. Topics covered in LIT are communication techniques, conflict resolution and some basic leadership skills to use with groups of campers.

Trainees have the opportunity to practice these skills and work with experienced counselors in our Day Camp programs by doing a volunteership for one week following this training.

LITs will be asked to complete a simple application as part of the registration process. Please ensure that the application is completed by the Teen and NOT the parent/guardian.

LIT participants go home between the two weeks of training and their one week volunteership.
