Theology II - Dominican Spirituality - 2204
Description
This required course, offered over the summer for rising sophomores, provides students with a basic introduction to Catholic Spirituality and to how it is lived out by the Order of Preachers. Students cover philosophical questions about the existence of the soul and its implications for any form of spirituality before covering basic Catholic claims about our relationship with a personal God through the Church. They will also learn about St. Dominic and the founding of the Dominican Order; the lives of notable Dominican Saints and Blesseds; Dominican history and spirituality; and the character of the Dominican mission today. The goal of this course is to increase students’ awareness of their own identity as young people formed in the Dominican tradition, so that they might integrate their experience at Fenwick as a guide for their future lives as Christian disciples.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Theology I
