Description
Welcome to the Stuart Tennis Camp, where we provide a fun and challenging environment for players of all skill levels to improve their game. The Stuart Tennis Camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of tennis, including correct grip, stroke production, balance, serving, exercises for coordination and footwork, shot selection strategies and game play.

Our Summer Sports Camps are developed with the same philosophy as our interscholastic athletic program which develops strong athletes who are physically, mentally and emotionally prepared to contribute to their team and to society. Lead by our Middle School Head Coach Andres Duque, along with players on the JV and Varsity players will provide personalized instruction to each camper helping them to learn to play, work on building character, and championing individual challenges.

In addition to on-court training, our campers will also participate in team-building exercises and mental skills training to help them develop a competitive mindset and work. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced player striving to take your game to the next level, our camp has something for everyone. Come join us and take your tennis skills to new heights! This session DOES NOT include lunch for your camper. Lunch can be added in the Options menu for $40/week.

Faculty Bio:
Andres Felipe Duque completed his B.A. in fine arts and anthropology at Los Andes University in Bogotá-Colombia. Mr. Duque came to the United States to continue his education in anthropology at California State University Bakersfield and at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he graduated with an M.F.A. in film, video and new media. He studied Italian culture and art at the University of Florence during a summer program and continues his love for learning.

He develops innovative projects inspired by art history, nature and architecture as gallery director and art teacher at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart since 2017. Mr. Duque participated in the Sacred Heart Roots Conference at St. Charles, MO. 2023. Where he met teachers from all the schools in North America and learned about the history of the Sacred Heart community.

He has been interested in sports, coached soccer and has been coaching tennis for the last two years in Middle School at Stuart.

Mr. Duque received a Colfuturo grant, School of the Art Institute of Chicago Fellowship, the SAIC Graduate International Student grant and the Impact leadership award at SAIC. https://aduqueart.weebly.com/

Lunch is available for purchase for $40/week for half day programs; full day programs at Summer at Stuart include lunch. Morning sessions end at 12:00 and afternoon sessions begin at 12:30.
