SCREENWRITING Level I VIRTUAL 7 - 12
Description

To: Future Screenwriters!

I am very pleased to introduce you to the Virtual Screenwriting Camps which begin on June 21, 2021. We are offering two completely virtual classes as the instructor, Stuart alum Laura Brienza, lives in Los Angeles.

Intro to Screenwriting Level I

June 21 – July 2, Monday - Friday @ 3:30 - 5:30 pm EST
$380

Love movies? Want to learn how to actually write a screenplay? Students in this course will learn the fundamentals of screenwriting structure and formatting, how to create compelling characters, how to craft believable dialogue, and how to generate great ideas in the first place. By the end of the course, students will complete a short script of 5-10 pages and learn the business of how to pitch and sell that script.

This class will cover:

* Daily analysis of real, produced screenplays

* Screenplay Structure & Formatting

* Character Development

* Crafting Strong Dialogue

* How to Pitch and Sell a Project

About the Artist:

When Laura graduated from Stuart, she received awards in Athletics (Cross Country and Track) and English and was also named the Janet Erskine Stuart, RSCJ Scholar for the highest grade point average in her class. I am sharing all of this to let you know that she was a wonderful member of the Stuart Community and is a well-rounded young professional. After getting interested in playwriting and screenwriting while at Stuart by studying Performing Arts and Filmmaking with Ms. Baldwin, Laura went on to study English and Theater at Georgetown University. She then worked in the theater in New York City, and then went on to work in film and television in Los Angeles. Most recently, she wrote the Hallmark Channel original film A TASTE OF SUMMER starring Roselyn Sanchez and Eric Winter, and has several film and TV projects currently in development.

Laura will be emailing prior to the class to let the campers know how to get into her Google MEET and classroom on her Stuart email account.

We look forward to introducing future screenwriters students to this exciting and creative medium!

Sincerely,

Anne Pierpont

Director of Auxiliary Programs
