Archery Sharpen your aim and shooting skills. Your instructor will show you the safest and best way to enjoy the sport. With practice, maybe you can hit the bullseye! When you sign up, you are signing up for the entire week, not for the day. Through the week, you will learn the basics of archery and sharpen your skills. A reminder that all archery students must be at least 12 years old and able to pull back a bow. | |
Challenge Course Climb a tower or stack milk crates, suspend thirty feet in the air on the High Ropes Course, soar on the Giant Swing, and conquer the Team Wall in the Challenge Course class. Face your fears, develop leadership skills, and build teamwork through exciting and rewarding adventures! | |
Fishing Join our Waterfront Fishing Class, where we will experience the fun and excitement of fishing while learning essential angling skills! Whether you're a first-time fisher or are already hooked, this class offers a hands-on opportunity to improve casting, knot tying, bait selection, and fish identification all in Lake Shallenberger at Camp Au Sable! | |
Gymnastics (ages 2-5) Gymnastics classes involve large and small motor skill activities including warm-ups to directive music, group games, and skills on the bars, balance beam, and floor. There are two different gymnastics class options. Children between the ages of 2 and 5 meet each weekday morning from 10:30 until 11:30, while children ages 6 to 9 meet each weekday morning from 11:45-12:45. These classes will meet in the athletic shed. If children are not comfortable being left unassisted, parents are welcome to stay; parents are required to stay for 2-year-olds. | |

Horse Riding Class Perfect for all riding experience levels, this class helps you build confidence while having fun with others. You’ll enjoy group riding lessons, guided trail rides, and hands-on activities. Groups are divided by experience, so you’ll feel safe, supported, and ready to ride. | |
Kids Craft-A-Day Kids will enjoy trying their hand at fun and exciting art projects! Stop by each day for a different crafty experience!

Microscopic Life Learn about how to use two different types of microscopes with lots of hands-on experience. Finding something microscopic to look at can be half the fun. Open up a whole new world that God has made. | |
Owls This is a new Pathfinder honor! Come learn about the mysterious lives of owls. Dissect an owl pellet and see what they eat. Use a microscope to see what is so unique about their feathers and learn how they fly silently. Learn how to identify the 10 species of owls that live in Michigan by sight and sound! | |
Phone Photography Learn basic photo tricks and hacks to make your phone photography amazing! Learn to use the photo editing setting already in your camera. Each person signed up should have their own phone to use with a functional camera. Open for all ages.
Heidi Agy is a Creative Director at a photo studio and directs photo shoots and videos all the time. By the end of the week she will help you take your photos to the next level! | |
Plein Air Art This class uses different art mediums such as watercolors, pastels, and ink to create a vivid picture of nature. You will be taken around Camp Au Sable to put the beauty of camp onto paper yourself! Open to ages 12+.

Reptiles Discover the secret lives of turtles, snakes, and lizards. You can help care for the reptiles we have in the Nature Center. Learn about their life cycles and how God created them with unique survival skills! Become experts at finding, caring for, and handling reptiles! | |
Sewing with Donna This creatively cool class is a week-long commitment. Projects will cost $5-15 depending on the project. Participants must be ages 9+ and if under the age of 12, accompanied by a parent. This class is located in the basement of the Forest Lodge. | |
Swim Lessons - Beginner Learn the fundamentals of swimming as you practice floating, kicking, and basic strokes. You'll build confidence and become more comfortable in the water while developing essential swimming skills. | |

Woodworking You will learn to design your own wooden project with our experienced instructor using a variety of machinery. Safety is always our main concern. Must be 12+. | |
