Challenge Course
Climb a tower or stack milk crates, suspend thirty feet in the air on the High Ropes Course, soar on the Giant Swing, and conquer the Team Wall in the Challenge Course class. Face your fears, develop leadership skills, and build teamwork through exciting and rewarding adventures! | |
Fishing
Join our Waterfront Fishing Class, where we will experience the fun and excitement of fishing while learning essential angling skills! Whether you're a first-time fisher or are already hooked, this class offers a hands-on opportunity to improve casting, knot tying, bait selection, and fish identification all in Lake Shallenberger at Camp Au Sable! | |
Fossils
Big and small fossils show evidence of a changing world. You will search for and make a collection of fossils. Learn about what we would expect to see in fossils, after sin and after the flood. God knows what is hiding in a rock – you can find out too! | |
Golf
Hit the course and sharpen your game in this golf class! You’ll practice the fundamentals of driving, chipping, and putting while building confidence and learning course etiquette. During the week, you’ll also have the chance to play at the Grayling Country Club and test your skills on a real course. | |
Gymnastics
In gymnastics class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of tumbling, acro, balance, and Adventist gymnastics! Taught by Coach Price from Great Lakes Adventist Academy, this class gives you the opportunity to be part of a team, learn together, and discover how to use your talents for Jesus. | |
Horseback Riding
Perfect for all riding experience levels, this class helps you build confidence while having fun with others. You’ll enjoy group riding lessons, guided trail rides, and hands-on activities. Groups are divided by experience, so you’ll feel safe, supported, and ready to ride. | |
Journal Making
In this hands-on class, you’ll get to start from scratch and, in the end, take home your own DIY journal. From making the paper to binding the pages together to personalizing the cover, each step will work together to form a beautiful leather-bound book, ready for beautiful writing or drawings to match! | |
Junior Lifeguarding
This class is perfect for teens looking to develop water safety, rescue, and leadership skills. Campers will learn CPR, first aid, and basic lifeguarding techniques. While not a certification course, it’s a great foundation for future lifeguards and especially for our future waterfront staff! | |

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a camp wrangler? In this hands-on class, you’ll step into the role and experience daily life with the horses! You’ll learn proper horse care and grooming, how to tack up, and other exciting wrangler responsibilities—all while having fun and building confidence. | |
Kitchen Creations
Everybody loves food, so what’s more important than learning about how it’s made? In this class, you’ll explore a new recipe each day. From baking delicious desserts to cooking savory sensations, you’ll build skills you can take back to your own kitchen. And of course, you’ll get to eat your creations too! | |
