Play & Improv...Juniors
Description
Come join a seasoned improv teacher this summer in this playful workshop! Through theatrical improv games, students will spend the week unraveling the joy of group play. Improv involves active participation from everyone, and teaches active listening, support, as well as collaboration. In this process, we learn the value of diverting our competitiveness into a group endeavor, playing in a safe space without judgment, and the value of our creative imagination when we come out of our shell.
Students will learn these principles of improv through theatrical & conversational group exercises & games that keep us on our toes, in the present, and always listening & responding to their group.
Improv is a skill that can help with social anxiety, mindfulness, public speaking, and trusting yourself. This is a great workshop for those interested in theatre! Workshop will close on Friday with a performance for family & friends to show what we learned through theatrical skills & games.
