Every day at Camp Twigs is filled with imaginative play, exploring the natural habitats, seeing local wildlife, building forts, developing outdoor skills, making crafts and forming friendships. Camp Twigs is where your child develops a true love and affinity for the natural world and will feel like they belong in it. Our campers learn outdoor skills, such as fire-building, Leave No Trace ethics, using hand-tools, bird watching and more. Day campers will be grouped with qualified, energetic, and passionate counselors who will foster a sense of appreciation of the parks and the outdoors.
Our philosophy is different than other camps. At Leadership Academy, we purposely structure our camps so that children can direct activities without adult micromanagement, giving kids an emotionally safe place to practice social skills, build confidence, understand appropriate responses to others and work through conflict with the support of caring counselors. The camp day is unstructured and unscheduled by design, allowing time for the children to play and form deeper connections to nature and each other.
