Ready, Set, Game: LEGO building, coding, and stop motion animation
Description
Power on and plug in to LetGoYourMind STEM Programs for a week of LEGO building fun inspired by video games!
This week, students will undertake the challenge of defeating the nefarious Dr. Do Gooder. Each day, students will collaborate with a video game villain to construct various motorized LEGO builds utilizing axles, gears, battery packs, pulleys, and motors. From stealing Super Stars with Bowser to collecting all of Sonic's gold rings with Dr. Eggman, students will acquire proficiency in coding their motorized LEGO builds through a drag-and-drop interface employing Bluetooth technology. Additionally, students will engage in supplementary LEGO-based mini-challenges designed to cultivate and enhance their creativity.
In the afternoon, students will have the opportunity to produce their own LEGO stop-motion animations. Students will formulate a plot, construct a set, and capture images. They will also learn to edit their films, integrate music, and add titles and credits using professional stop-motion software.
