Course Dates/Times: Monday, June 8 - Thursday, July 9, 2026 (Mondays - Fridays), 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Biology, offered during the summer term for rising sophomores, is a lab science course in which students explore topics including experimental design, evolution, ecology, biochemistry, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, the cell, protein synthesis, biotechnology, and genetics. The course will develop students’ awareness of biology’s relevance by integrating modern issues and discoveries. Students will pursue guided and open-ended laboratory investigations in this course, which emphasizes laboratory safety and use of the scientific process. Critical and creative thinking are encouraged and developed in the classroom and laboratory.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Environmental Science

Materials: Students will need to purchase access to the digital textbook, Miller and Levine (2019), Biology, Savvas, via Fenwick’s Online Bookstore.
