Grade Level: Incoming Freshmen
Course Dates/Times: Monday, June 15 - Thursday, July 9, 2026 (Mondays - Thursdays)
This course, offered for incoming freshmen, will help students build skills for reading comprehension, close-reading, and analysis of complex texts. As part of students’ coursework, students will read, annotate, and write about their required summer reading choice texts in preparation for the start of the school year. Vocabulary building will also be an important focus in this course.
Required Texts: Students must purchase a print copy of their selected summer reading choice text before the first day of class. A list of text options will be shared with families by mid-May 2026.
In this course, students will also read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson; copies will be provided to students in class and this book does not need to be purchased separately.
