Grade Level: Incoming Freshmen
Course Dates/Times: Monday, June 15 - Thursday, July 9, 2026 (Mondays - Thursdays)

This course, designed to help students make successful transitions into their freshman years, will help incoming students develop strong executive functioning skills for academic success. Students will develop organizational, note-taking, and study skills, as well as strategies for planning and prioritization, assignment completion and self-monitoring, and self-advocacy. Students will also build familiarity with Schoology and Google Drive, and will develop skills and confidence for communicating with their teachers and class counselors.

Required Text: Dawson, P. and Guare, R. (Eds.). (2017). The Work-Smart Academic Planner: Write It Down, Get It Done. (Revised Edition.) Guilford. ISBN 978-1462530205. Students must purchase a print copy before the first day of class.
