Gr 4 Cincinnati Nature Center Field Trip
Description
Upper E Field Trips are designed to connect students with our curriculum. Students will visit the Cincinnati Nature Center for a Hike-Based Program: Under Our Feet.

Students and staff will travel by bus to the Cincinnati Nature Center for a day of hiking, an educational program, and a picnic lunch.

Students are to wear spirit wear tops with appropriate bottoms that adhere to the UE dress code standard.

This is a rain-or-shine field trip. Students will be outdoors for the entire day and should dress appropriately for the weather. Please send rain gear (no umbrellas), winter coat, hat, and gloves, if needed.

Students should bring a packed lunch and water bottle in a cinch sack that they can carry throughout the day. The Nature Center encourages the use of reusable containers whenever possible to minimize waste. Composting and recycling are available onsite.

Students should wear hiking shoes to school and bring a change of indoor shoes in a plastic grocery bag for their return to campus. If rain is expected, we also recommend packing an extra pair of dry socks.


Parental Involvement
A limited number of parent chaperones are needed to assist with hiking groups. To volunteer, fingerprints must already be on file with the school.

If interest exceeds the number of spots available, there will be a random drawing. All chaperones will be notified by the end of day on 11/2/26.

Parent chaperones must arrive at school by 9:00 a.m. for a parent meeting and then drive, or carpool, to the nature center.

Students must ride the bus to and from the field trip.

There is not cost for chaperones. Thank you for volunteering your time!
