Gr 4-6 Armleder Wheaton College Day Trip
WHEN: Wednesday, 11/18/26, Student arrival at CHCA Armleder is 2:45-3:00 A.M Eastern
COST: $75 per Student
SPENDING MONEY: Students may bring no more than $20 in optional spending money. Students are responsible for keeping and
managing their own spending money throughout the trip.
REMINDER: Thursday, 11/19/26 will be an E-Learning Day for grades 4-6 Students only.
Armleder students have the opportunity to visit a college campus (including the Billy Graham Center Museum) as part of our commitment to helping them envision future possibilities and understand how their choices today contribute to their long-term goals. This year, our visit to **Wheaton College** is especially meaningful because of the longstanding partnership between Wheaton College and the Armleder community.
Through this partnership, qualifying Armleder alumni who continue through CHCA and are accepted to Wheaton have access to a significant scholarship opportunity. To date, **five Armleder alumni have graduated from Wheaton College through this scholarship opportunity**, providing our current students with real examples of what is possible through academic achievement, leadership, perseverance, and preparation.
This trip is designed to be much more than a college tour. It is an extension of the leadership development and academic preparation taking place at Armleder every day. Students will have opportunities to:
* **See college as an attainable goal** by experiencing a college campus firsthand.
* **Understand the importance of building a strong academic résumé**, including grades, attendance, service, leadership, extracurricular involvement, and positive character.
* **Practice the soft skills we are developing through the Amazing Shake**, including introductions, eye contact, handshakes, asking thoughtful questions, professional communication, dining etiquette, and interacting confidently with unfamiliar adults.
* **Strengthen leadership skills** by representing Armleder and CHCA in a new environment and demonstrating maturity, responsibility, curiosity, and respect.
* **Connect present choices to future opportunities**, reinforcing our message that attendance, academics, behavior, service, and leadership all matter.
* **See themselves in the stories of Armleder alumni** who have successfully transitioned from our campus to CHCA and ultimately to Wheaton College.
The Wheaton experience allows students to put our schoolwide theme, **“Making Every Move Count,”** into practice. We want students to understand that their academic résumé is being built now. Every class attended, assignment completed, leadership opportunity accepted, relationship developed, and positive decision made can open doors for their future.
Ultimately, this leadership trip is about helping students recognize that college and other significant future opportunities are not distant ideas. They are possibilities that can become reality when students intentionally **Learn, Lead, Serve, and make every move count.**
