College Application and Essay Bootcamp
Description
Think of this as a summer class for your student's college applications. Day 1 students will get organized regarding deadlines and requirements for each school, send test scores, start STARS accounts, be briefed on portals, go over all things Scoir, and nail down essay topics. Day 2 students will continue their work in the Common Application, start cataloguing any supplemental essays they have, and workshop essays one-on-one with the college counselors. Day 3 students will learn how to request letters of recommendation, work through FERPA regulations and signatures, and have a refresher regarding College Kickstart. Students will have the opportunity to have their essay reviewed by college admission office if they so choose. By the end of the three days, students will be able to hit submit on their applications should they desire to do so.

Registration and Payment is Required.

Camp 1: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Camp 2: 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Students should expect to attend the full-time each day. Should they not attend, a make-up session will not be offered.

CHCA MSL (High School) Collaboration Space/Library

* WHAT TO BRING
Students will need to bring their school issued ipad or other device to do application work. A phone will not work for this workshop. Students will also be expected to produce a first draft of an essay over the weekend between Days 1 and 2 of the workshop. Snacks will be provided for students. They should bring their own water.
