Activities
Absolutely Batty
A bat-based class that seeks to educate youth about these misunderstood animals! Campers will participate in bat-based activities, such as making bat houses to be put up around camp, aiming to warm campers up to our surprisingly wonderful animals. Expect campers to come home with far more bat facts than you're ready for!
Adventure Level 1
Step into teamwork and fun! Campers are introduced to group initiatives that build communication, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. Level 1 focuses on fun foundational teamwork challenges that prepare campers for bigger adventures ahead!
Adventure Level 2
(2 Class periods) - (AGE REQUIERMENT 11 Years Old) Take teamwork to new Heights! Campers will tackle more challenging group initiatives and gain their first experience on the low and high ropes course. This level pushes skills, confidence and courage while keeping safety and fun at the forefront.
Adventure Level 3
(AGE REQUIREMENT 13 Years old) – The Ultimate Challenge! Campers face the hardest group initiatives and enjoy multiple days on the low and high ropes course. Level 3 is designed to test skill, trust, and determination, giving campers the thrill of adventure while mastering teamwork and personal growth.
Air Gun
(Age Requirement 10 and up) Learn safe and responsible air gun handling while developing accuracy and focus! Campers will practice shooting at targets under close supervision, honing their aim, control, and concentration.
Anything Animals
A class meant for animal lovers of all ages. Learn about our amazing northeast wildlife through various arts and physical activities! Campers will interpret fossils, create their own ecosystems, and even get to dissect owl pellets!
Archery Advanced
(AGE REQUIERMENT 12 and up) Take your archery skills to the next level! This class is designed for campers with experience who want to refine their skills and tackle more challenging targets. Focus on precision and consistency while enjoying friendly competition! Perfect for archers to push their skills further!
Archery Beginning
Learn the fundamentals of archery in a safe, supportive environment! Campers will practice proper stance, aiming, and shooting techniques while building self-confidence. With Guidance from our trained and experienced instructors’ beginners will get to experience the thrill of hitting the target for the first time!
Board Game Cafe'
From Timeless classics to exciting new picks, this class offers something for every kind of player. Campers will get to play a variety of board games! This class is all about friendly competition, making new friends, and having a great time playing board games!
Camp Contraptions
An engineering class where campers undergo various team-based challenges! Each day presents a new task! Campers will make egg parachutes, sail cars, and marshmallow bridges, all while learning the science behind solving practical problems.
Camp Crafts
This class is full of exciting activities one could find themselves enjoying while at camp. Make friendship bracelets, knitting, crochet, drawing, sketching and enjoy working with some clay, or even free style whatever craft you can think of.
Camp Sports and Games
Got a lot of energy? This is the class for you! Play all kinds of sports, Tag games, 4-Square and of course a camp favorite, GaGa Ball!
Canoe and Kayak
Head to our boat docks and boat on our serine channel in between Owls Head and Indian Mountain View Lakes.
Counselor in Training 1
(Age 14)- Campers who may think they want to be a counselor someday, should really think about taking this class! Learn all about what makes camp run, what counselors do that campers don’t often get to see, and start learning about how to be a camp leader.
Counselor In Training 2
(Age 15) Take leadership to the next level! Taught by our Assistant Camp Director, CIT 2’s learn more about how to be a counselor and a good leader.
Dance
Come help choreograph an amazing dance for camp’s talent show! Learn some new moves and make new friends as you all work together, choose a song to dance to and present it to all of camp Wednesday night at the talent show!
Drama
Come act out skits, participate in fun and goofy acting lessons, and help create/select a skit to perform at the talent show
Dungeons and Dragons
(2 Class Periods) - Step into a world of imagination where you are the hero! In this activity, campers create their very own characters, team up with other campers and journey through exciting stories filled with puzzles, creatures, and teamwork. No experience needed, just bring your creativity and a sense of adventure as we roll the dice and explore fantastic worlds together!
Explore the Stars
A class that goes far beyond our wilderness and heads up into the stars. Campers will learn about our solar system, our galaxy, and our universe, experiencing the bewilderment of what lies beyond. Activities include creating a planet for our own 4-H solar system, a game of asteroids, and if weather permits, a late-night star-gazing experience!
Level 1- Adventure & Teamwork
Work as a team through initiatives and games on the ground and through the low ropes course. Encouraged for participation in Level 2.
Level 1- Fishing
Learn and develop basic fishing skills- casting, baiting, fish & lake ecology Poles and equipment provided.
Level 2- Fishing
Level 2 for ages 10+ with previous fishing experience. You'll practice your skills and then you’ll boat into the lake to expand your experience. Camper should feel comfortable in and around the water. Boaters wear life jackets at all times.
Magic the Gathering
(2 class Periods)- Dive into an exciting world of strategy, Creatures and Spells! In this Class Campers learn the basics of Magic: The Gathering, build beginner friendly decks and practice good sportsmanship through fun, casual gameplay. Whether you are brand new to the game or an experienced player, this class is all about fun!
Natural Arts
Enjoy using Nature in creative ways to make wonderful camp memories!
Outdoor Cooking ($5 Charge)
We all love food cooked over the campfire! in this class we will go over campfire safety while enjoying making delicious easy meals yourself!
Outdoor Skills
Previously known as wilderness survival, this class teaches campers various life-saving survival skills! From building shelters to sourcing clean water, your camper will learn the skills they need to survive emergency scenarios with hands-on activities! Pathfinders- An introduction to backpacking! Learn the basics of hiking and leave no trace and how to set up a campsite! This class culminates in a day hike up Owls Head Mountain where you can enjoy fantastic views with a packed lunch!
Paint Party
Grab a brush and paint to create guided works of art in acrylic and watercolor.
Pathfinder
Pathfinders for ages 10+ is an introduction to backpacking, hiking, carrying a pack, and Leave No Trace. It is a recommended for future participation in MAAP Alpine Adventurers and MAAP Mountaineers Backpacking. Weeks 2, 4 & 6.
Sailing
Learn to sail on our gorgeous lake!
Swimming
THIS IS A MANDATORY CLASS. What’s summer camp without Swimming on our amazing beach!? Everyone gets a chance to head down to the water to just have fun or get help to gain skills and confidence in the water.
