Camp Junior Counselor (Ages 13+)
Description
Volunteer to be a Summer Camp Junior Counselor at the Corvallis Environmental Center's Summer Camps! Spend the summer gaining valuable leadership and communication skills while making a positive impact on the lives of young campers. As part of the program, volunteers receive coaching on topics such as age-appropriate learning, camp safety, volunteer expectations, group dynamics, and acting as a positive role model.
Volunteer Duties Include:
-Assisting with daily camp activities, including hiking, floating, arts and crafts, and educational programs
-Commit to acting as a positive role model for campers, encouraging participation, teamwork, and respectful behavior.
-Following all safety guidelines and procedures
-Assisting with set-up and clean-up of camp materials.
-Participating in required training on June 11th from 4-5pm
Volunteer Qualifications:
-13-17 years old and currently enrolled in school
-Reliable and punctual
-Ability to commit to a full-day camp for 1-2 weeks
-Must dress appropriately for the weather
-Treats others with respect
-Willingness to work hard and learn new skills
-Attend a mandatory training session on June 11th
Hours: 9am-3pm Monday-Friday, one-two weeks of summer camp (June 23rd-August 29th 2025). This is an unpaid, volunteer position that reports directly to the Summer Camp Coordinator.
