Daily Camp Life

Q:What adult will be with my camper during the day?
A:Specialty Camps are hosted by PDS faculty members. Campers will be in a classroom with the teacher. There may also be a college or high school helper with the teacher.

Camp PDS is facilitated by a PDS faculty member. Campers are divided into groups based on age. College or high school aged counselors are with each age group, and the Director and Assistant Director of Camp PDS float to supervise special games, crafts, and activities and to check in on the different groups.

Registration

Q:UltraCamp says that my camper isn’t eligible for a camp.
A:Double-check that your camper is not registered for a camp at the same time. If you are registered for Camp PDS, your camper becomes ineligible for any specialty camps happening at the same time.

To fix this, cancel the current reservation, and indicate “Switching” under reasons. This will help us know to waive your $25 fee. Then, you should be able to make the correct new reservation.

If you are still experiencing issues, please email us at summer@pdsmemphis.org.

Q:How do I cancel a camp?
A:At the “My Reservations” page, you will be able to click on the camp name. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, and click “Cancel Reservation.” Please note that you will still be charged the $25 non-refundable deposit fee.

Q:How do I switch weeks or camps?
A:At the “My Reservations” page, you will be able to click on the camp name. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, and click “Cancel Reservation.” Cancel the current reservation, and indicate “Switching” under reasons. This will help us know to waive your $25 fee.

Q:How do I add, change, or cancel Extended Care?
A:At the “My Reservations” page, you will be able to click on the camp name. Scroll to the “Options” section, and you will see an “Edit” button. Click that button to make your changes.

Daily Camp Life

Q:Are lunch and snacks provided?
A:Snacks are included for all camps.

If your camper is registered for a full-day option or two half-day options, you will need to pack a lunch. Care will be provided during the lunch break.

Q:Will my camper nap?
A:Campers enrolled in Camp PDS YK, PK, and JK during the afternoon will take a nap.

Campers enrolled in Camp PDS SK-6th Grade or an specialty camp in the afternoon will not nap.

Q:Does my child need to be potty trained?
A:Unless otherwise specified, specialty camps are only opened to potty-trained campers. If your child is not potty trained, he or she may attend Camp PDS.

Q:What does my camper do in-between morning and afternoon camps?
A:Campers have a supervised lunch in between morning and afternoon sessions. They will eat their packed lunches with other campers before going on to their afternoon camp.
