Girls Overnight Camp Session 5ALL
Description
Ages 8th Grade through 11th Grade

Session 5 is a two week experience that blends adventure, leadership, traditions, and deep friendships. Somewhere between cooking over a fire, falling asleep to rain on a tent, and laughing through shared challenges, campers grow in confidence and connection in lasting ways.

During this session, Wakonda campers. Girls entering 10th grade. and Pioneer campers. Girls entering 11th grade. will travel to a remote island destination on Lake Michigan for a multi day backpacking adventure focused on teamwork, independence, and outdoor living. Campers entering 8th and 9th grade will also head off site for memorable river trips on the Pere Marquette or Muskegon River, building paddling skills and confidence along the way.

Session 5 also includes several long standing camp traditions, including Candle Dipping, Wishing Boats, and the Final Campfire, where the camp torches are lit and the summer Logbook and its honorees are presented. Pioneer campers also take the lead in planning and hosting the Pioneer Banquet, a special evening created to celebrate and thank camp volunteers for their support throughout the summer.
