Girls Overnight Camp Session 2 (Shortened)
Description
Ages 7 Years through 11th Grade

Session 2 is a lively, high energy way to jump into the heart of summer at Camp Newaygo. This Sunday through Thursday session gives campers the full camp experience in a slightly shorter format than a traditional seven day stay. Campers choose three activity classes, giving them time to build skills, try new challenges, and form fast friendships that feel like summer magic by the end of the week.

Midweek adventure is a highlight of Session 2. Campers in 7th grade and under head out for an on property tent overnight with their cabin group. Campers in 8th through 11th grade travel off site for an unforgettable adventure overnight that may include backpacking, paddling, or tubing. Cooking over the fire and sleeping under the stars creates some of the strongest connections of the week.

Session 2 also includes Science Camp. Girls enrolled in Science Camp will dive into hands on experiments and outdoor exploration guided by experienced educators from Newaygo and Oceana counties. Daily lessons are designed just for Camp Newaygo and take science far beyond the classroom. Science campers participate in a double science block each morning, then enjoy one activity choice, evening programs, games, and plenty of lake time each day. Science Camp helps girls discover that curiosity is powerful and that being smart is something to celebrate.

Session 2 also offers an Overnight Trail Expedition for Unit girls (entering 8th through 11th grade).
This optional experience is designed for campers who are ready for a true off site adventure. During Session 2, expedition campers will hike along the shores and dunes of Lake Michigan in West Michigan, exploring beaches, forests, and scenic overlook areas. Campers will depart Camp on Monday and return on Wednesday, traveling and camping with trained trip lead counselors. They will cook over campfires, sleep under the stars, and grow stronger as a group through shared challenge and teamwork.

Expedition campers will not select regular camp classes during the trip portion of the week. When they return to Camp Newaygo, they will enjoy elective activities such as zip line, tubing, and tie dye with their cabin group.
There is no additional cost for this experience.
