Girls Overnight Camp Session 1
Description
Session 1 is the perfect way to kick off the summer.

This full seven day session gives campers the chance to dive deep into their three chosen classes all week long. Campers build skills, try new activities, and form real friendships that often last well beyond the summer. No two weeks at Camp Newaygo are ever the same, which is why many campers choose to return for multiple sessions.

Midweek brings one of the most memorable parts of the experience. Campers in 7th grade and under head out for an on property tent overnight with their cabin group. Campers in 8th through 11th grade travel off site for a true adventure overnight that may include backpacking, paddling, or tubing. These trips give girls the opportunity to cook over a fire, sleep under the stars, and grow closer with their cabin mates through shared adventure.

Session 1 also includes Greenville Science Week for selected 5th grade girls on scholarship from Greenville County. These campers will participate in hands on science each morning, then join the full camp program in the afternoons and evenings. It is a unique opportunity to blend STEM learning with the full overnight camp experience.

Session 1 also offers an Overnight Paddle Expedition for Unit girls (entering 8th through 11th grade).
This optional experience is designed for campers who are ready for a bigger adventure and want to spend multiple nights off site exploring the Au Sable River in Northern Michigan. Expedition campers will depart Camp on Monday and return on Thursday, traveling by canoe and camping along the river with trained trip leaders. Campers will cook over campfires, sleep under the stars, and build strong friendships through shared challenge and teamwork.

Expedition campers will not select regular camp classes during the trip week. When they return to Camp Newaygo, they will enjoy elective activities such as tubing, zip line, and tie dye with their cabin group.
There is no additional cost for this experience.
