CCA Privacy Policy
Last updated February 23, 2022
Cambridge Camping Association (CCA) is committed to protecting the privacy of the children, families, donors, website visitors, and others who interact with us.
In 2010, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts instituted “Standards for the Protection of Personal Information of Residents of the Commonwealth” (201 CMR 17.00), which sets standards that all who own, license, store, or maintain personal information about a Massachusetts resident must follow. Cambridge Camping Association (CCA) has protocols in place to ensure compliance with this regulation.
Collection of Personal Information by CCA
Visitors to CCA’s website who arrive for the purpose of browsing content, reading articles, or downloading informational materials do not provide personally identifiable information. No such personally identifiable information is collected by CCA’s website or other online services during such visits.
CCA's website uses browser "cookies" to help understand how visitors are using online services. A cookie is a small text file that is temporarily stored on the visitor’s browsing device. When visitors return to CCA’s site, their web browser passes the cookie from their device back to the website, so the website can recognize visitors for the purpose of providing better user experiences. At no time will the cookie reveal any personal information about visitors to other parties, including visitor names, addresses, or email addresses, even if visitors have submitted this information to other areas of the site.
CCA’s website automatically logs information such as IP address and browser type of all visitors in order to measure the usage of websites and other services.
Collection of Children’s Personal Information by CCA
CCA does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. On-line visitors under 13 years of age should not submit personal information without permission from a parent or legal guardian. If visitors believe that CCA may have collected information from a child under 13 without the permission of a parent or legal guardian, please contact us.
Third Party Websites and Services
CCA’s website may contain links to other third party websites and services. CCA’s Privacy Policy does not apply to other sites and CCA is not responsible for their privacy policies.
CCA may forward visitors to third party online event registration, donation, survey, online payment processing, and other services to perform such tasks on behalf of CCA. Any personally identifiable information or financial information, including credit card number and transaction data, collected during such activities is collected solely by the third party and no such information is ever stored on CCA’s website or servers.
CCA utilizes third party analytic data collection services including, but not limited to, Google Analytics products. This information is used to analyze how visitors use the website and other services, which helps CCA improve visitor experiences.
Use of Personal Information
CCA does not sell, rent, exchange, or otherwise share personal information provided by visitors. Member and donor information is not sold or rented.
CCA may use information voluntarily provided by visitors to extend special offers or other invitations. Email sent by CCA, other than donation and program registration confirmations, includes a link that enables the recipient to unsubscribe from future CCA email messages if they so choose.
From time to time, CCA may use information from website visitors for new, unanticipated purposes not previously disclosed in this Privacy Policy. If information practices change in the future, CCA will post the policy changes to the website to notify users of these changes and provide the ability to opt out of these new uses. Please contact CCA with comments and questions regarding this Privacy Policy.
Security
CCA has appropriate, industry-standard security measures in place in its physical facilities to protect against the loss or misuse of information that visitors have provided or that CCA has collected from the use of the website and other services. This information is only distributed to relevant agents of the organization and staff members based on the nature of the inquiry.
Financial transactions are processed solely by third party payment processors and not by CCA’s website. All transactions are transmitted over the internet using industry-standard SSL encryption to third party payment processing companies that are in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS), and do not use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
Disclosure of Information
Server log records and all other data stored on CCA servers may be accessed by system administrators. In the event that CCA is required by law (including a court order) to disclose the information submitted by visitors, CCA will try to provide visitors with a notice (unless CCA is prohibited from doing so) that a request for information has been made so that visitors may submit an objection to the disclosure. If visitors provided an email address during their visit, CCA will try to send a notice to that address. CCA prefers to independently object to over-broad requests for access to information about visitors to the website, but CCA cannot assure visitors that this is possible in all cases.
Changes to this Policy
CCA reserves the right to modify the information contained herein at anytime without prior notice. If changes are made to this Privacy Policy, changes will be reflected on this page accordingly. Check this page periodically for amendments.
