Lantern Fellowship Spring 2024 "Courage is a heart thing!"
Description
Spring 2024
Theme: "Courage is a heart thing!"

Courage is a Heart Thing!

More than anything nowadays, we need courage to live in our tumultuous world. As the Apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7, “God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power, love and responsibility.” We sometimes forget that the Holy Spirit is the feminine side of God and that that Spirit lives within our hearts. The Spirit is our courage and power. As women, how do we grow in courage? How do we embrace our own power, God’s gift to us? And how do we practice it? We will discuss courage, the root of which is “cour,” which means heart. We will discuss many of the courageous women of the Bible such as Eve and Mary, Zelophahads’ daughters, Zilpah and Zipphora, Lydia and Elizabeth, many of the unnamed women, and more!

Guest Speaker/retreat leader is:
Rev. Nayiri Karjian, Association General Minister Living Water association of the Heartland Conference UCC

What is Lantern Fellowship?
Planned in the spring and fall each year by women of the Heartland Conference of the United Church of Christ, Lantern Fellowship is a time when women of all generations come together to enjoy faith, fun, and friends. Our oasis of Templed Hills is tucked into the peaceful beauty of wooded hills and trails where the spirit can find renewal. The planning team hopes you will invite a few friends and loved ones to share in the wonderful experience of the Lantern Fellow-ship.
