Nature Narratives 2026 - Community Collaborative Nature Camp
Description
Tell stories of people, places, and the planet—one photo at a time. Grab a camera and let's go outside!
In Nature Narratives, middle school students will practice the skills and techniques that go into nature photography. This 4-day camp will include fun and educational activities like DSLR camera courses and guided walks in community where you can hone your photography skills and learn about environmental justice and health. Packed full of fun activities, guest speakers, and lots of food!
The camp will culminate in the creation of a printed photography magazine that each student will receive following the completion of the program.
Note: The camp will be based at STEM Pathways Innovation Network, which is in the Renton Technical College Annex. We will explore the surrounding neighborhood, and participants can expect to walk 0.5-2 miles per day on paved sidewalks that may include moderate slope and loud street traffic. Activities will proceed regardless of weather, with rain gear and outdoor clothing provided for use during the program. Additional accommodations can be requested in registration.
