12 Week Program on Sundays

India Community Center (ICC) is excited to launch the ICC Makers Studio Robotics & IoT Workshop, a 12-week program for students ages 9-13 year olds designed around hands-on, project-based learning.

The program is built so that every skill students learn in electronics, software, and mechanical design feeds directly into a final project of their own choosing, where they apply their learning to solve a real-world problem. Students will be grouped in 5 teams (4 students each) with one highschool mentor dedicated to each team.



What Students Will Learn

Weeks 1-8: Electronics, Software & Mechanical Design
Students will learn the fundamentals of electronics, including how sensors and actuators work, how to build circuits on a breadboard, and the basics of resistors and transistors, while wiring and programming Arduino microcontrollers. On the software side, students will learn Python basics, including loops, conditional statements, and simple algorithms, along with the fundamentals of how coding works, different types of programming languages, and what an interpreter is. In mechanical design, students will learn what CAD (computer-aided design) is, including orthogonal and isometric projections, how to design their own parts, and how to slice and 3D print those designs, including basic troubleshooting of the printer.

Weeks 9-12: Project-Based Capstone
Students will apply everything they have learned across electronics, software, and mechanical design to build a solution to a real-world problem of their choosing. Working alongside a mentor, they will identify a problem, sketch an initial solution, and create a bill of materials. Over the following weeks, they will design, build, and refine their solution. On the final day, students will present and demonstrate their projects to family and the community.



Registration Fee: $675 per student
Sibling/Friend Discount : $25 per student

P.S.: Each student will be provided one kit that they can take home only within the duration of the program. The kits will have to be returned at the end of the program *.
