Want to learn to code? Are you creative or a lover of games? Well, this is the camp for you! In this camp, you'll learn to use modern coding techniques to turn your creative ideas into apps or games. And, you’ll do it by actually releasing and contributing to real iPhone Apps (real as in on the AppStore) with your friends, for a good cause! Through fun activities and small group sessions, you'll learn to code. Then you'll build real apps for a select group of local, NJ-area nonprofits and small businesses. Last summer's students work on real apps being used right now by restaurants, a mental health charity, a New York non-profit, and a charter school in the UK. At the end of the week, you’ll have contributed to real apps on the AppStore that anyone can download, you'll have the lifelong skills of a coder, and you’ll have a certificate showing all the extraordinary things you accomplished. More importantly, you’ll leave knowing how to build your own tech going forward.
And it's fun! There are no lectures and everything is group-based. You don’t need any previous experience or special software to take this course: all you need is your creativity!

Students will need either a chromebooks or laptop for this class (no Ipads) . You can either bring your own device or let Kent Place know and we can provide one.
