Transportation – Mechanical Engineering
Description
n this Transportation Engineering camp, you will learn about the many modes of transportation we use to get around! We'll take a look at the differences between cars, trains, buses, boats, and planes. Through a series of hands-on activities where we will build model trains and cars, we will gain an understanding of the internal mechanics of each mode of transportation.

Furthermore, we will learn about transportation history through field trips to places like the Cable Car Museum and the San Francisco Railway Museum. We will analyze each mode of transportation based on its speed, efficiency, and environmental impact to get a holistic comparison.

We will learn the basics of the combustion engine and how electric vehicles are changing how transportation is powered. Furthermore, students will learn the basics of physics that underlie each form of transportation. By the end, students will be able to make informed decisions about how they get around and understand how each vehicle they ride works!
