Think Neuroscience!
Description
Step into the astonishing world of neuroscience, where biology, chemistry, and electricity come together to create memory, movement, emotion, and thought. With many fun, hands-on activities, you will investigate how the nervous system encodes information, processes sensory input, and coordinates the complex actions that enable organisms to interact with their environment.

You will conduct a sheep brain dissection, examining major structures such as the cerebrum, cerebellum, brainstem, and limbic system to understand how anatomy relates to function. Using gentle, live cockroaches and specialized recording equipment, students will listen to the electrical activity of neurons, revealing how action potentials transmit information through neural circuits.

This experience transforms the abstract idea of “brain signals” into something concrete, measurable, and unforgettable. We will also learn the foundation of neurological illnesses such as Alzheimer's, epilepsy, and other disorders of the nervous system.
