Maker Camp - Collaborative Rug Braiding
Description
Students will learn the colonial and depression era craft of rug braiding. A variety of fabric will be provided. Students will bring a piece/pieces of fabric or item of old clothing from their past or present that has meaning to or somehow represents them and contribute it to the making of the rug. When completed this rug can be displayed on a floor or wall in a suitable place in the ms. Depending on the length of the class and number of participants this oval or circular rug could be anywhere from 5 to 12 feet across.
