Internship: Special Programs Assistant Ses 1
Description
"What does it mean to plan and facilitate a program activity? Words like “organize and prepare” and “the facilitator” come to mind. In our camp setting, we know that there are many different kinds of leaders and many paths to developing leadership. Our new Internship program offers teens the opportunity to learn and practice their leadership skills through a Day Camp experience. Working with children requires patience, creativity, kindness, organization, problem-solving and teamwork. Our program is designed to be a hands-on, skills-based experience for teens interested in working with children in a fun, supportive environment.

Under the support of an LIT director and Program Instructor, participants will develop the skills and strategies for working with younger children while learning how to implement creative camp program in the areas of dance, sports, creative arts, swimming and Munchies and Crunchies. Interns will receive training in child development, camp health and safety, and practice their skills through direct service with groups ranging from our youngest to second grade day campers.

Interns must commit to at least one full session so they can start and finish a session with a group of campers."
