Forged: Wrought in the Fire

Forged began when a group of men from Summit Northwest Ministries decided they weren’t satisfied with status quo Christianity. They wanted to become better husbands, fathers, boyfriends, brothers, men in their community. They also decided that the Christian life is not meant to be dull or boring. Instead, it is an adventure requiring bravery, courage, and grit. It is not only filled with battles to be fought and challenges to be overcome, but also should include joy and a few good-natured shenanigans. This led to the creation of a movement focused on growth and building a strong community of Christian men.

The Forged weekend is designed for men who don’t normally go to retreats. It is a chance to connect with a group of guys, participate in some weekend shenanigans, support each other and be challenged to grow. Whether you are a someone who likes to blow things up, or who would rather hang out and heckle those who do, this weekend is for you. We want to be better bachelors, boyfriends, husbands, fathers, and followers of Christ, and we plan to have a good time doing it.

If you come to Forged you'll find that we don't spend a lot of time sitting in meetings. Sure, we get together a few times to learn and grow together. However, the majority of the time is spent doing cool stuff together. Creating on the forge, long-range shooting, mountain biking, zip-lining, golfing, and eating the PNWs best burgers are just a few of the things you'll have an opportunity to experience over the weekend. Our hope for the weekend is that you'll leave refreshed and with a deeper, more meaningful connection to the Creator.

A Note on Forged Golf: The golf event will take place Friday afternoon Oct 18 at The Links in Post Falls. Extra fee includes greens fees, cart and range balls. Arrive at 12:00 with first tee at 12:40. Golfers will be contacted prior to the event for pairings. Thanks to Shine 104.9 for sponsoring this part of the Forged weekend!
