Description
Prerequisite: Basic Sunfish Sailing Camp - Crew or higher rating

Get ready for teamwork and fun. By joining the Flying Scots camp, you will be situated on board a 19ft sloop rig boat with 4 other campers plus the instructor. Here you will discover sailing skills on a slightly more complex of a boat, which will build continuously upon sailing skills learned in a basic sailing course. Campers will learn to take care of everything necessary to get this boat out sailing- from gathering the sails to rigging and fine tuning the boat. Once the boat is out sailing, you will participate in all aspects that make this boat sail from working the jib to steering with the tiller. You learn various parts of the boat, coming about, jibing, using two sails and basic navigation. If weather and wind permit, the group will sail to Old Town Alexandria one day during the week.

Minimum age 9 years old, no exceptions

Camp meets Monday through Friday. No camp July 4th
