STEAM Camps (ages 9-11)
Description
These STEAM camps are for 9-11 year olds. Choose as many half-day sessions as you would like. Options are listed by week and time frame. Each half-day camp is $180.

Camps offered weeks 1 - 3 will be also be offered weeks 4 - 6.

If you register for a morning and afternoon session in the same week, our staff will provide activities in between sessions from 11:30am - 12:30pm. Participants are required to bring their own lunch.

Do not register for two camps running in the same week at the same time.

STEAM Camps (Ages 9-11)
Week 1A: June 17th - 21st I 8:30am - 11:30am
Da Vinci Creators
Leonardo da Vinci was an artist and scientist who imagined cool machines. Inspired by his ideas, campers in this imaginative STEAM camp become artists and inventors. They craft and test designs for future innovations while creating artworks that reflect their visions of imagined worlds.

We Got The Beet
Join us as we explore the creative potential and color wheel inside any kitchen. Learn about natural food dyes, make all natural multicolored pasta, bright colored smoothies, and “paint” sugar cookies, all while practicing basic kitchen safety.

Dream Build Explorers
Campers think like an architect and gain inspiration to design “outside the box” by looking at some of the most unique buildings from around the world, then create their own ideas for dream buildings in this STEAM camp. They make idea boards, learn about space and design and create simple floor plans and three-dimensional models of their ideas.

Fashion First
Fashion forward campers get inspired by some of the world’s leading designers as they learn about the fashion design process from design concept to creating our own fashion lines. We create idea boards for a line of fashion, learn basic sewing techniques, as well as decorative techniques with fabric markers, fabric paint, beads, gems, and more.

Week 2A: June 24th - 28th I 8:30am - 11:30am
Movie Magic
Aspiring filmmakers explore the world of movie making. Spend time learning about the science behind movie-making. Then, campers collaboratively learn how to shoot a short movie, animate, and even basic editting techniques. All technology will be provided at the camp.

Wild Adventure
Campers explore BW's outdoor and indoor spaces to dive into land art. They make leaf prints, create stepping stones, craft rock mandalas, experiment with natural weavings, and paint garden landscapes in this immersive STEAM camp. Nature walks provide materials and inspiration, giving insights into the history and traditions of outdoor artistic expression.

Inventive Explorers
Let creativity flow in this camp for young inventors! Rooted in STEAM education, campers build simple machines, make "circuit bugs," launch exciting bottle rockets, and create colorful reactions. This hands-on experience blends science and art, encouraging imaginative thinking and active learning.

Each day this camp is filled with top secret briefings and activities that will put spy skills to the test. Develop a disguise for cover, make and break codes, create and use spy gadgets, and uncover the art and science behind spying — all of this and more awaits young recruits!

Inventive Wonders
Turn funny ideas into amazing contraptions! Get inspired by the artist and inventor Rube Goldberg and let your imagination go wild in this STEAM camp. Sketch and make inventions using basic machines. With wheels, gears, ramps, marbles, blocks, and more. Ask questions like a scientist and create like an artist!

Where in the World?
Find yourself in a different country each day, and uncover the cultural clues to determine where in the world you are! Draw, sculpt, and learn some basic language skills as you travel around our mysterious globe and explore the arts from different cultures. Where will you be? Japan? Iceland? Peru? Just wait and see!

Week 3B: July 8th - 12th I 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Futuristic Tech Tales
Create a cool story set in the future with robots and high-tech gadgets! We'll use drama and art to make the tale come alive. Pretend to be a robot or a super inventor and make up an awesome sci-fi adventure with spaceships and cool inventions. Together, we'll make props and backgrounds to show off our story on the last day of camp.

Explore epoxy resin to embed flowers, vintage beads and buttons, photographs, and drawings to create beautiful coasters, paper weights, mobiles, and other decorative items for your room. Use the same techniques and materials to create personal items like jewelry and key chains to take your glassy art objects along with you everywhere you go.
